twist top jars

Basically, all glass twist top jars are suitable for use with Nanostopper, als long as they have a matal lid. 

These jars actually are vacuum sealed when you buy them.  You can hear that by the characteristic "pop" you hear when you open them. If you do not hear this sound, then there is something wrong with the jar and most likely with the contents. 

Jars made of plastic or jars with a plastic lid are basically not suitable, this is due to the strength and rigidity of jar and lid. For example, a plastic jar will most likely collapse when put under vacuum and a plastic lid can tear when perforated.

Also, a jar of peanut butter or chocolate spread does not come vacuum sealed from the factory and because of this, it cannot be used with the Airtender system.

Nanostopper uses an ingenious system to not only hermetically seal the jar, but also double as a visual vacuum indicator.

You can see if the vacuum seal is intact by checking whether the Nanostopper sits flush against the  lid. If the top surface of the stopper is offset above the jar lid, it means that there is no vacuum inside.

Yes, the Nanostoppers are reusable and diswasher safe. The have been designed and engineered to be used over and over. 

And, did you know that the Nanostopper vacuümstoppers are universal? You can use the same stopper and vacuum pump to vacuum seal jars* and wine bottles!

*For jars, you will need to have the Airtender Lid Punch.

Glass jars can be used indefinitely, as long as they aren’t damaged. Since the Nanostoppers are also reusable, you can keep vacuum saving, marinating and more, for as long as you want!

One thing to keep in mind is that the metal jar lids might not last forever. SInce the lids have not been made with countless use in mind, the built-in seal might start to deteriorate and lose its airtight closure. Luckily, you can use any twist top jar so just replace the jar (or the lid) and you are good to go. Don’t forget to recycle any jars or lids that you don’t need anymore :)
